Beginning a career on Wall Street amid a global financial crisis can offer opportunities for growth and plenty of perspective. For Joe, it confirmed his passion for finance and markets.

Working in equity derivatives at a major investment bank in New York, Joe’s understanding of risk, liquidity, portfolio management, and capital preservation were all shaped in a profound way, revealing that often the most important asset in challenging times is trust.

Looking to innovate and improve portfolio management for investors, Joe seized an opportunity in 2014 to begin working with Steve Ruvituso, Todd Stankiewicz and Julie Ackerman. Together, they set out to rewrite the standards of wealth and asset management with the belief that clients deserve better. This dedication to a higher standard led Joe to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, to further his financial education and commitment to fiduciary responsibility.

In his role as COO and CIO, Joe is driven to deliver a seamless client experience, both operationally and with respect to our investments and strategies. Joe continues to draw upon the experiences at the start of his career, as he strives to innovate and improve SYKON’s processes to deliver for our clients and their families.

Joe earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and management from the University at Albany, State University of New York.

Joe is active in the alumni associations of Chaminade High School and the University at Albany and is a regular member of the CFA Institute® and New York CFA® Society.

When he is not working, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife, Maria, and their three young sons at their home in Oyster Bay, New York, as well as the occasional round of golf with friends.
